Great vocals by Bill Homans. The album was recorded for private use only to attract attention of big companies but strangely enough failed to do so. MISSUS BEASTLY - same
(Nexus /G) : Legendary German underground group recorded originally in 1969 the first album on CPM-Label. Like a darker more experimental "Out of Focus", with the accent on psychedelic blues and jazz, their 1969 debut was amazing for its variety and invention. LIMITED EDITION ( 19 € )

MODULO 1000 - Nao Fale Com Paredes
(World in Sound / G ) (BRA 1970)"The music of Módulo 1000 had its own appeal to an audience that wanted a heavy, raw, experimental, psychedelic sound. Their kind of music did not make it to the radio stations. It was too wild. The distribution of their record was done in a very limited way. The record label directors, which probably didn't understand or even didn't like the music, did zero promotion for the LP." (Luiz Simas, organ player)But the music that was recorded in 1970 in Rio de Janeiro is still alive. Among collectors not many copies, in good condition are known. The sleeve has the absolutely amazing original artwork hard-carton-triple-fold-cover/ 180 gr.vinyl )(Sold out)last LP copies: ( 49 € )

MONUMENT - The First Monument
(Black Widow /I ) 1971 UK / Truly great UK acid psych-progressive rock with satanic overtones, strong "Sabbath" influence and imagery: This was a rather mystical progressive album, which is now rare and sought-after by collectors. All four of those listed above were members of Zior and the album was the result of a drunken all-night jam session, which is probably why its such a mish-mash of tempo changes and different styles. ( 17 € )

MORGAN - Nova Solis
(Black Widow-I ) Formed in November 1971, Maurice Bacon and Morgan Fisher had been in The Love Affair together. Their album was recorded in Rome, and was available in the UK only on import. A second album an a Morgan Fisher solo album were also recorded in Rome, shortly after this debut, but neither was released. The music here, recorded live prior to the album is taken from the mastertapes. The opener is an instrumental cut, followed by six diff. versions of original album tracks in very powerful style, mixed with four long acid jamming cover tunes, Tobacco Road (6:46),Come Together (5:14), I´m a Man (7:08) - turned into typical Siva style with pounding and hypnotic Hammond B3 organ, wailing and distorted fuzz / wah-wah guitarwork, powerful voice and massive drums which lead you to the holy grail of psychedelic music. MYTHOS - same
(Think Progressive /G)) The first album originally released on OHR-label in 1972.Mythos were fine purveyors of cosmic Krautrock, covering ground from space-tripping Pink Floyd via Ash Ra Tempel, onto Hawkwind and further by also blending in classical and ethnic themes. Science fiction themes were used as basis for lyrics, though, especially so one the eponymous debut, the music came first. A magical album, full of invention, yet all the more memorable for the ecological sci-fi proverb that ends the opus "Encyclopedia Terrae".
( 15 € )

NARNIA - Alsan is not a tame lion
(Solar Circus-UK) Limited edition of 1974 Super-rare UK progressive album with a folk edge, female vocals and mystical lyrics with Peter Banks (ex "YES") on guitar. Hyped up by dealers worldwide as a masterpiece of acid-folk, this has a few arresting moments, but is generally overestimated. The main problem is the compositions, which do not render anything not heard before elsewhere. At worst they are trite and lacking of depth, at best they are agreeable as on Agape and on by far the best track Living Water. The playing is good, while the lyrics have strong religious undertones. Pauline Filby sings very well, but often sounds uncomfortably like Dusty Springfield while the overall sound is reminiscent of The Seekers. The most positive effect of this album could be that one may want to re-read the excellent Narnia Cycle by C.S. Lewis. ( 25 € )

PAGAN - Born Pagan
(Rockadelic /US)From the ashes of the band "Red Mountain" rose Born Again. Originally from Marin County in Northern California the band travelled to Los Angeles to try to find fortune and fame. Local producer Roger Dollarhide took the boys under his wing and recorded tracks with them in late '69 and early '70 at Sun West Studios in Hollywood. led by the tasteful guitar playing of Larry Otis and the soulful vocals of Bryce Sullivan, Born Again was a very versatile band that created a hybrid style all their own. Whether it's a country tinged ballad ala KAK ("She's Gone") or an eerie guitar psycho instrumental ("Laura's Waltzing" from the 1970 Film Soundtrack from "The Velvet Vampire") these boys were one tight unit that delivered the goods. A chance meeting with the legendary Pat Boone is documented in the LP's extensive liner notes. The band effectively ended when Larry Otis was hired by Ike Turner to play in the 1974 version of "The Ike & Tina Turner Revue". TITUS GROAN - same
(Get Back-I ) Originally released in 1970 on Dawn. Although named after the main character of Mervyn Peake's gothic fantasy novel, Titus Groan played music definitely lacking in originality. Since all the tracks are over five minutes long, there is room for elaborate instrumental developments, which almost get exciting, but fall short from their goal. Their early progressive style is laced with large parts for wind, which at times makes for interesting listening, but ultimately the meagre compository skills make the wine too watery. By far the best cut is Hall Of Bright Carvings (title taken from Peake's novel as well), which is versatile and passionate, although at 11'50" inevitably too long.Has 3 extra tracks from their rare 45;Comes in 180 gr vinyl+gatefold sleeve: ( 18 € )

WAILING WALL - same
(Rockadelic /US) Our latest release from the vaults of El Paso's Suemi label, this album has really been turning some heads. Very unusual sounds spearheaded by brothers Darrell and Doug Adams who later moved to the West Coast and released LP's with the middle eastern influenced band "Light Rain". The album has a spooky, late night vibe and lyrics that reveal new meaning upon every listen. Great guitar work by Mike Cancelarre and twisted vocals by drummer/ songwriter David Rutledge. Visions of late night desert peyote hallucinations on songs like "Scissor-Tail Swallow" and "Country Of The Goose" compliment a hard rock, Captain Beefhart vibe on "Mad Rapper". Unusual timing and phrasing makes this a journey into the twisted back roads of El Paso's great rock and roll heritage. Comes with two inserts that has pictures of the band, the band's history in their own words and a brief background of each cut as told by Darrell Adams. This is destined to be one of our most sought after releases and has been compared to fellow Texas psych monster "Cold Sun" by some. ( 33 € )

WAY WE LIVE - A Candle for Judith
(Psygressive /G) This duo hailed from Rochdale. Clayton was a part-time painter and poet. Milne was a Physical Education instructor and talented multi-instrumentalist. Their album from 1971 was a fine amalgam of folk, hard rock and psychedelia and is the most sought-after and expensive collectors' item associated with the Dandelion label. Highlights included the Eastern-influenced Siderial, the semi epic The Way Ahead and there's considerable musical contrast too between the hard rocker Willow, which has great vocals and guitars, and the gentle, acoustic style of Angie. Recommended listening. The band later evolved into Tractor: ( 20 € )
